Workplace First Aid
Emergency First Aid At Work
(EFAW).
A focused introduction to emergency first aid for workplaces where the first aid needs assessment identifies EFAW as suitable.
What You’ll Learn
- Assessing an incident and responding safely.
- Supporting an unresponsive casualty, including CPR and AED use.
- Recognising and responding to choking, seizures, bleeding, shock and minor injuries.
Qualification & Assessment
Successful learners achieve the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF). Assessment includes four practical assessments and one multiple-choice theory paper.
Entry & Accessibility
No previous first aid qualification is required. Contact us before booking about learner eligibility, accessibility or support needs; practical assessment requirements still apply.
Renewal & Next Steps
Workplace first aid certificates last three years. HSE recommends annual refresher training. If your needs assessment identifies a wider range of risks, consider First Aid at Work.
Broader Workplace Skills
First Aid At Work
(FAW).
A broader workplace course covering emergency first aid plus a wider range of illnesses and injuries. Choose it according to your organisation’s first aid needs assessment.
What You’ll Learn
- The core emergency first aid skills covered in EFAW.
- Recognising and responding to a wider range of injuries and medical conditions.
- Applying first aid through practical activities and workplace scenarios.
Qualification & Assessment
Successful learners achieve the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF), following seven practical assessments and two multiple-choice theory papers.
Entry & Requalification
New learners do not need to complete EFAW first. If you already hold FAW, send us your certificate details so we can advise on requalification eligibility and the appropriate course.
Keeping Skills Current
Certification lasts three years. Plan requalification before expiry and consider annual refresher training to help retain practical skills.
Emergency Care For Babies & Children
Emergency Paediatric
First Aid.
Learn the essential emergency skills for caring for babies and children. Suitable for parents, carers and childcare staff whose role calls for this level of training.
What You’ll Learn
- Recognising an emergency and assessing an infant or child.
- Managing an unresponsive infant or child, CPR and choking.
- Responding to seizures, external bleeding and shock.
Qualification & Assessment
Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF). Assessment includes five practical assessments and one multiple-choice theory paper.
Entry & Choosing Your Course
No previous first aid qualification is required. We will check eligibility and support needs before booking. This emergency course is narrower than the full two-day Paediatric First Aid course; your role and setting determine which you need.
Renewal & Progression
Renew paediatric first aid training every three years. If you need the full paediatric course for your responsibilities, choose the two-day option below rather than assuming the emergency course is sufficient.
Care For Babies & Children
Paediatric First Aid.
Confidence When It Matters.
For people caring for babies and children, including nursery teams, childminders, school staff and other childcare professionals.
What You’ll Learn
- Responding to an unresponsive baby or child, including CPR and choking.
- Recognising common paediatric illnesses and injuries.
- Managing incidents and practising an organised, calm response.
Qualification & Assessment
Successful learners achieve the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF). Assessment includes seven practical assessments and two multiple-choice theory papers.
Choosing The Right Course
Tell us about your childcare role and setting before booking. Early years employers should select training against the current EYFS requirements and their needs assessment; adult workplace first aid alone is not a substitute.
Entry & Renewal
No previous first aid qualification is required. Discuss eligibility and learning needs with us before booking. Paediatric first aid training should be renewed every three years.
For Schools & Education Teams
Allergy & Anaphylaxis
Awareness.
Help school staff recognise allergy risks and respond confidently to anaphylaxis. A focused qualification for teams supporting pupils with allergies.
What You’ll Learn
- Understanding allergies and recognising the signs of anaphylaxis.
- Knowing the first aid response, including the relationship with asthma.
- Recording and reporting incidents to support an organised response.
Qualification & Assessment
Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness (RQF). Knowledge is assessed through one multiple-choice theory paper.
Who Should Attend?
School staff and others supporting pupils with allergies. Tell us your setting, staff roles and existing training so we can check suitability and explain entry and assessment requirements.
Validity & Next Steps
This qualification is valid for one year. Retake the course before expiry to maintain certification. It complements wider first aid training and your school’s own emergency arrangements.
Keep Your Skills Current
First Aid At Work
Annual Refresher.
A practical skills update for qualified first aiders between certificate renewals. Annual refresher training is different from FAW requalification.
What You’ll Learn
- Practising the response to an unresponsive casualty.
- Refreshing recovery position, CPR and choking skills.
- Building confidence in essential first aid procedures.
Qualification & Assessment
Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Annual Refresher) (RQF), assessed through three practical assessments.
Entry Requirements
This course is for qualified first aiders. Send us your current certificate before booking so we can confirm suitability.
Does This Renew My FAW Certificate?
No. Annual refresher training does not extend your existing workplace first aid certificate. Ask about FAW requalification separately and provide your certificate and expiry date.
