What is event medical cover?
Event medical cover provides trained personnel and suitable equipment to respond to illness and injury during an event. Provision should be based on the event’s assessed risks.

Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Swadlincote and regularly support events across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and the wider East Midlands. UK-wide cover may be possible depending on staffing, travel and event needs.
How do you decide how many medical staff are required?
We consider attendance, event type, audience profile, activities, venue layout, alcohol, previous incidents, duration, weather, access, emergency-service distance and identified medical risks.
What is the minimum clinical grade you provide?
The minimum grade depends on the assessment. For many events we support, the minimum will be a FREC 3 medic. Higher-risk events may require more experienced clinicians or resources.
What qualifications do your staff hold?
Our provision may include FREC-qualified medics, ambulance clinicians and other appropriately qualified professionals. The proposed grades will be explained in the quotation or medical plan.
Can Mathew and Tom personally attend?
Mathew and Tom attend many Streamline events, subject to availability and operational requirements. Named personnel cannot be guaranteed unless specifically agreed.
Can you provide one medic?
One medic may suit some low-risk events but not every event. We assess lone working, attendance, site layout, activities and whether an incident could be managed safely without immediate support.
Do you complete an event risk assessment?
We assess our own medical operations. Wider event risk and needs consultancy is available separately if the organiser needs support with the overall event arrangements.
Can you create an event medical plan?
Yes. Where appropriate, a plan can set out medical resources, responsibilities, communications, escalation, equipment and emergency procedures. Detail varies with the event.
What equipment do you bring?
Equipment is matched to the event and staff scope of practice. It may include first aid and trauma equipment, an AED, oxygen, monitoring equipment, consumables, documentation and communications equipment.
Do you bring an AED?
An AED will normally be included where appropriate. Any existing venue equipment is also considered during planning.
Can you provide a medical treatment area?
We can discuss a designated first aid or medical area. The organiser or venue may need to provide a suitable space, power, lighting, furniture, privacy and access.
Do you provide an ambulance?
An ambulance is not automatically included. If a dedicated ambulance or transport capability is required, this must be assessed and specifically agreed, potentially with an appropriate partner provider.
Can you transport patients to hospital?
Routine transport should not be assumed. Transport depends on the patient’s condition, event plan, available resources and whether NHS emergency ambulance assistance is required.
What happens during a serious emergency?
Our staff assess the patient, provide care within their scope and request additional emergency assistance where required. The organiser may need to support access, crowd management and communications.
Will you record patients who receive treatment?
Yes. Appropriate clinical records are completed. Information is handled confidentially in line with relevant data-protection and information-governance requirements.
Will we receive a post-event report?
A report can be provided where included in the agreed service. It may cover treatment numbers, significant incidents, operational observations and recommendations without routinely including patient-identifiable information.

How much does event medical cover cost?
Cost depends on staff numbers and grades, duration, location, risks, equipment, planning and additional resources. We provide a tailored quotation after reviewing the event.
Can prices be negotiated?
We aim for fair, proportionate pricing and may discuss different options. We will not reduce provision below a level we believe is necessary for safe support.
Can you provide short-notice cover?
We will consider it, but availability cannot be guaranteed. Limited notice can restrict staffing options and the time available for planning and documentation.
How early should I book?
Contact us as early as possible. Larger, higher-risk or multi-day events require more planning. For an event within one month, contact us directly as well as submitting any online enquiry.
Can you cover multi-day or overnight events?
Yes, subject to staffing, welfare, accommodation, safe working hours and operational arrangements.
What remains the organiser’s responsibility?
The organiser retains responsibility for overall event safety and management, including accurate information, site controls, access, crowds, hazards and agreed emergency arrangements.
Can you support us before the event?
Yes. We can advise on risks, medical needs, staffing, equipment, facilities and an event medical plan before the event.
What happens if the event is cancelled?
Cancellation charges and payment arrangements are set out in our Medical Cover Booking Terms and Conditions. Tell us promptly if the event is cancelled, postponed or significantly changed.
